Job Description

Temporary Content Editor for a leading Architecture business

Robert Half marketing are looking for someone to join our clients' Content team between now and Christmas, with the potential to extend the contract into the early New Year.

About the role

As Content Editor you will be responsible for managing day-to-day incoming content to their website. Adding value to every page before it's published, using your skills in proofreading, copywriting, and SEO, you'll ensure all our content meets the highest editorial and technical standards.

We're looking for someone who has worked in digital content management and is familiar with prioritising multiple incoming requests.

This role is crucial in keeping the content production process moving, and would suit someone who thrives on hard work, at a fast pace and in a busy but productive environment.

This role will take day-to-day responsibility for content requests and content production - not just making sure that content requests have a clear user need, brief and help deliver organisational objectives, but also that they are planned into the team's workflow, timelines are realistic and outcomes are measurable.

Checking web pages for grammar, SEO best practice, checking links and making sure the content submitted is correct, the Content Editor will then publish the page. This often involves discussion or advice for the person submitting the content, and a daily check-in with the Content team about what requests are coming in.

Emails will be booked in via this Content Editor, who will then need to book them into the calendar, check the wording, images and links before launching the email in Adestra.

The Content Editor will be supported by our existing Content Editor, who will train them in all of our systems and processes, and they will be managed by the Head of Content.

They will work with every team across the organisation to publish their content, but especially Marketing and Awards, Press and Public Affairs, Membership, International, Commercial, RIBA Publishing, Client Services & Competitions, Regions, Awards, Practice, Library and Education

Skills and Experience

  • An excellent visual and verbal communicator. Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to produce creative and innovative copy and an understanding of creating content for different audiences
  • Experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) in a digital environment or previous editorial experience
  • Ability to use Google Analytics to understand and improve performance of web content
  • Good time-management and organisational skills; in particular, comfortable with meeting challenging deadlines
  • Great stakeholder management skills, diplomacy and a willingness to collaborate and to learn
