Our Communications Unit comprises teams covering media, digital, events, corporate partnerships, brand and marketing. The expertise within the Unit helps present who we are and what we do in a professional and consistent way. We are recruiting a Social Media Officer to join the Unit to play a key part in implementing our social media strategy in line with our strategic objectives.
As the organisational lead on social media, you will be responsible for managing and building our presence and communities on social. Working with stakeholders around the organisation, you will find creative and engaging ways of promoting our work online with the aim of building our brand awareness, engaging with existing and new audiences and generating action.
As well as looking after our day to day social calendar and activity, you will also work on social media awareness campaigns, and will be responsible for advising on best practice and building social plans. You will lead on finding new ways to innovate and use insight to spot opportunities for us to optimise our social media offering, as well as being responsible for managing and recruiting social media influencers.
You will have demonstrable experience of managing a brands social media presence to achieve set organisational objectives, as well as creating social media plans and content designed to generate engagement and action. You will understand the differences between each social channel and will be able to tailor your approach accordingly to achieve maximum impact.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to take complex issues and present them in a way that is engaging and easily understandable. You will also be experienced in reporting on social activity and using insight to optimise and improve social channels engagement and brand building through content.
Experienced in working with stakeholders of all levels, you will be able to advise on social media campaigns and work in cross departmental groups to plan activities. You will be able to plan and manage your time effectively, work to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks accordingly.
Importantly you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the sensitivities around communicating our work online, including child safeguarding issues, and will be able to give examples of how to mitigate any risks.
