Soccer Aid is a pioneering television event which brings together two teams of celebrities and football legends from England and the Rest of the World for the biggest charity celebrity football match in the calendar, broadcast live on ITV. The event, which started in 2006, has taken place every two years since and raised more than £17million, providing much needed support for children in danger. From 2018, Soccer Aid will become an annual event and we are recruiting a permanent team to help realise this. The Soccer Aid Project Manager is one of two roles we are recruiting to work with the newly appointed Director of Soccer Aid to shape and deliver the annual campaign.
In this role, you will co-ordinate all internal project work streams within Unicef UK and Soccer Aid Productions. This is a fast moving and, at times, high pressure position but it is also intensely rewarding. This role offers a genuine opportunity to help transform the world for children, and to harness the power of television to do just that.
To succeed, you will need to thrive in a role that requires quick decision-making, challenging negotiation and creative thinking to deliver results. You should have an understanding of fundamental project management tools and techniques, and experience of applying them, and experience in bringing a broad range of stakeholders together to deliver the required outcome within the time allocated. You should also have a basic understanding of financial management including budgeting, requisitioning and accruals.
