Job Description

As Senior Internal Communications Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and overseeing high profile communication campaigns across the business, such as financial updates, pay negotiations and operational changes
  • Fostering and maintaining relationships with senior leaders
  • Writing scripts, briefs and other materials for senior executives, including the CEO, and coaching them to deliver effective communications
  • Leading on all content for frontline managers, developing presentations and video material
  • Developing and driving an effective and engaging editorial plan across internal channels.
  • Developing new communications channels and creative ideas keeping up to date with industry best practice and latest trends
  • Leading on evaluation of communications channels, driving changes in content and distribution channels based on quantitative and qualitative research
  • Manage a roster of high-quality suppliers used by the internal communications team, ensuring value for money and reducing costs where possible
  • Develop and lead on award entries throughout the year, establishing the team as one of the best in the private sector

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and planning skills
  • Experience of developing effective campaigns from start to finish for large audiences
  • Ability to operate and write quickly, under pressure and across diverse subject areas
  • Ability to understand and communicate persuasively issues and policies to employees
  • Ability to write for different media, purposes and audiences with creative flair
  • Tact and discretion to handle price sensitive or highly confidential information
  • Experience and understanding of evolving digital and social media channels and content requirement in addition to traditional media
  • Understanding of IT software and systems, including ability to upload own stories to content management systems and basic Photoshop skills
  • An industry-recognised qualification in journalism or communications
  • Experience of working in a pressurised corporate environment
  • Experience of developing strong working relationships and influencing senior managers within a large organisation
  • Development of strong coalitions with other functions
