Our client is a global operator within the promotional marketing industry and has decades of experience working with hundreds of clients and thousands of brands for some of the biggest and most recognised household names within the retail and FMCG sectors.
Although they might appear to be a Goliath in the industry with their own strong brand reputation, there is a sense of agility with this business and yet security. As they have a high employee retention rate and a clear message.
Although they are very established, this business is continually evolving and expanding their offering and presence in the marketplace with new technologies and approaches.
It’s due to this ongoing success that we are now seeking an experienced Sales Director to come on board and work directly with the UK Managing Director to help develop, forge and implement the sales strategy.
You’ll also have to have strong leadership skills as you’ll have a sales team reporting to you consisting of Business Development Managers and Business Development Directors. All of which focus on their own markets.
You’ll have an overall divisional annual target to reach and part of your responsibility will not only ensure that your team is delivering but also help mentor them as well as take on part of that sales target yourself. This target by the way is very achievable and usually something we’d expect one senior individual to achieve, let alone a team.
The HQ office is located in the Bedfordshire area with a satellite office in London. Although you’d be expected to run your team from HQ, you’ll also be expected to be out of the office meeting existing clients as well as prospect clients. You will be the most senior sales person in the UK business unit. So it will be critical to have that chemistry fit with the Managing Director, which of course you won’t be able to judge until you meet.
So to recap…. This opportunity as a Sales Director would most definitely suit someone with gravitas, leadership qualities, strong track record in surpassing sales targets and a strong background in promotional marketing within the FMCG and retail sectors. There is no compromise on this.
In return for your skills and experience as a Sales Director our client offices a competitive salary ranging between £70-75k plus car allowance, various commission and bonus structures that should see you comfortably reach the six figures region within your first year.
