As PR Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing a PR and media strategy, building their reputation and ensuring effective media coverage. You will also draft or oversee the creation of proactive and reactive media releases and content on social media, forge relationships with journalists and key influencers and manage the response to "crisis" situations.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities -
-Create and execute proactive media campaigns
-Meet journalists and foster good relations with the media
-Write press releases
-Monitor media coverage and prepare regular evaluation reports
-Attend press conferences or interviews with the organisation's spokespeople
-Write for and update the Organisation's social media pages
Essential Experience and Technical Qualifications -
-Previous experience as PR Manager or in similar role(s) required - min 5 years.
- Excellent writing and editing skills coupled with the ability to write compelling copy are a must
-Excellent interpersonal skills are vital for developing relationships with media representatives, handling difficult situations and advising people within the organisation
-The ability to organise and plan PR strategies together with tactics needed to achieve your objectives
-High levels of initiative, self-motivation and time management balancing strategy, delivery and people.
A large part of this role is about establishing in house capability and building the basics around PR.
You will be in essence setting the foundations for in-house PR.
