My client is a fantastic organisation that has doubled in size in the past 5 years due to extensive investment in their fundraising team and growing interest in conservation issues. If you are interested in working for a charity or are currently already in the 3rd sector then this is certainly a great place to be.

Having recently hired a Head of Digital they are now looking for a full stack PHP Developer

Overall purpose and objective
Maintain and develop the online platform, administer its Linux servers (both internal and external-facing), provide technical architecture and implementation of internal information systems and help manage integrations with both internal and 3rd-party applications.

They are currently scoping out a new website and this role will support the Digital Lead in choosing a platform fit for data-driven needs.

Key responsibilities
· Maintain and continue development of the online platform
· Develop internal information systems, as required by the business
· Maintain internal source code repositories
· Administer Linux servers

Main duties
· Maintain and develop the online platform in accordance with business requirements and in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders.
· Liaise with and provide technical advice to the Digital Lead within the Communications Department as part of the Website Development Team
· Pursue a policy of Test Driven Development across all layers of the platform (client-side and server-side)
· Move the development/deployment process towards a Continuous Deployment methodology
· Maintain the documentation library
· Ensure that all source code is written according to PSR-2, or subsequent/equivalent standards
· Liaise closely with the Data Manager to ensure systems compliance with all current legislation
· Optimise and refactor the codebase as needed
· Transform coherent user stories into functional, deliverable, implementation
· Remain current with advances in the field and emerging technologies. Where appropriate, integrate new technologies and adopt updated best practices
· Implement and maintain appropriate levels of security, in terms of both infrastructure and codebase. Follow established best practices, such as OWASP or equivalent. Where necessary, update existing implementations to mitigate against emerging threats
