My client is a Top 20 UK marketing agency that has developed new customer acquisition programmes for some of the UKs biggest B2B brands including: Npower, Shell, Sage, Paymentsense, Tesco and Nestle.

Job purpose:

The successful New Business Executive will generate qualified sales leads from several marketing and business development activities including telemarketing, email & digital, direct mail, networking and more. The successful New Business Executive is responsible for filling the sales pipeline with live client briefs, discovery meetings and tender opportunities.

New Business Executive Main duties:

  • Make outbound contact to C-Suite level contacts to profile, cleanse and update prospect data - gathering unique marketing intelligence
  • Using outbound communication channels including telephony, email and LinkedIn, to nurture prospects consultatively along the path to purchase
  • At point of purchase, handover a sales opportunity to the new business team in the form of an appointment - web, telephone or face-to-face
  • Maintain the relationship with the prospect throughout the sales process (including after the sales team have been introduced) to aid sales conversion
  • Keep abreast of the latest market information relevant to the marketing industry so that you can promote the brand, products and services in the most accurate way
  • Speak confidently and accurately and in an appropriate manner to a wide range of C-Suite level of decision makers
  • Support colleagues by sharing useful sales knowledge and offering practical advice about how to increase performance towards targets
  • Proactively pursue self-development opportunities within the agency through completion of the PRM Academy Programme and beyond
  • Coordinate direct mail and email marketing campaigns based on target segments
  • Recruit attendees for webinars/events
  • Source tender opportunities that match internal capabilities
  • Coordinate new marketing content based on prospect feedback
  • Lead generation for new introductions and pitches

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their Manager from time to time.

The person:

  • Educated to a degree level or above
  • Strong B2B marketing and/or sales experience, ideally within a marketing services related organisation for a minimum of 1 year
  • Target driven, self-motivated and money-hungry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of making outbound calls to cold and warm data, engaging with prospects in a consultative sales process
  • An understanding of tactical marketing initiatives, and how they can support the sales cycle
  • Ability to deliver sales reports summarising performance against targets and KPIs
  • PC Literate, with good speed and accuracy in keyboard work and MS Office applications
  • Well-presented, articulate, friendly, and polite, with energy and enthusiasm - with a hunter attitude to succeed
  • Numerate - able to assimilate facts and figures
  • Calm when under pressure
