A rare opportunity has arisen in the 'City of Bath' UNESCO World Heritage Site for an experienced and creative Marketing Manager to promote our Enterprise Zone.


Enterprise Zones have established themselves as the driving force of local economies as they unlock key development sites, consolidate infrastructure, attract business and create jobs. The Bath & Somer Valley Enterprise Zone spans two geographical areas; Bath City Riverside, plus The Somer Valley Enterprise Park at Midsomer Norton. Bath City Riverside includes the Council’s flagship regeneration project at Bath Quays, which will deliver a new commercial quarter and central business district for the City, and which has been hailed as the most significant development opportunity in the city for a generation. The Somer Valley Enterprise Park has the potential to deliver 540,000 sq ft of bespoke employment floor space. 


In order for these sites to deliver the exceptional targets which have been set, Bath & NE Somerset Council is now seeking to appoint a high calibre marketing lead to design, manage and direct the promotion of these developments to a wide range of audiences at a local, regional, national and international level.


Working from offices situated in the beautiful city of Bath, just minutes from the train station and the Riverside Enterprise Area, the EZ Marketing Manager will report directly to the Programme Director – Growth & Enterprise, and will be an integral part of a friendly, dynamic and commercially focussed team. The post holder will be the lead on all branding and marketing activities, including:


  • Reviewing and aligning key messages with the marketing strategy and communication plans
  • Implementing digital and communications strategies
  • Procuring and managing external contracts for branding, marketing and PR
  • Managing investor relations
  • Co-ordinating, managing and designing events for defined target audiences (including input to local stakeholder events and exhibitions) in order to communicate key project messages
  • Evaluating customer research, market conditions and competitor data.


To succeed in this senior level role, you will be a driven and experienced individual who can make and sustain key relationships with a wide range of both internal and external partners and stakeholders across all levels, and who will have a track record of leading and managing successful communications and marketing campaigns with demonstrable results.
