Group Marketing & Sales Director – Montague Place, Penarth

Working hand-in-glove with the UK General Manager, Group Chairman and principals of each school, you will have responsibility for further building each schools’ brand and awareness, and for recruiting students to the schools.
There is an outstanding franchise and asset base to work with. The group currently runs the best academic schools in their respective markets:
- Westbourne Sixth Form – Top of the Daily Telegraph league tables for the last 3 years for smaller IB schools
- Westbourne Senior School – 50+% A*-A grades at GCSE
- Westbourne Prep School & Nursery – head-and-shoulders above competitors across two counties
- Yorston Lodge – widely regarded as the best school in Cheshire, regularly obtaining scholarships for 50% of its graduates to some of the best secondary schools in the country
- Langdale Free School – for over a decade, the best school in two counties. Pupil numbers have tripled in 4 years with plans to double again over next 3 years.
- Langdale Nursery – rated ‘Outstanding’ over the last decade
Further, we intend to acquire or launch 1-3 schools per year – domestically and internationally – for the foreseeable future. Plans to open a sixth form in Sydney in January 2020 are well underway. Singapore, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, New York and Santiago are under development.
The role includes, with each principal, formulating, detailing, leading delivering of each schools’ marketing & sales strategy, developing strong and productive relationships with international agents and in the local community, recruiting students at international exhibitions and local open days, leading the school’s online and social media strategy and content management regime, and designing and producing high quality publicity materials. You will be based in Penarth and spend an average of one day per fortnight at each of Yorston and Langdale. Specific experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential, as is some familiarity with the Cardiff area.
You will be outcome-driven with a proven record of success, possessing strong organisational and process management skills, natural commercial acumen, and the communication and interpersonal skills to build strong and productive relationships with parents, staff and agents alike. You will be able to point to specific examples of creative marketing & sales approaches and solutions that you have led and that delivered tangible and identifiable results and bottom line impact. From a sales perspective, as a natural and highly energetic and engaging ‘people-person’, you will have both an instinct and flare for, and substantial experience in, both generating and closing leads.
