Marcom Manager - High Level Job Description

Our client is a leading international manufacturer and marketer of complete solutions that identify and protect people, products and places.


TWO MAIN AREAS OF FOCUS

Intelligence - Overall responsibility for Market sizing, Competitor analysis and monitoring, and understanding, prioritising and championing customer needs within the business. Jointly responsible with creating actionable plans by Product Category.

Marcom - Overall responsibility for translating Product strategy into a marcom strategy, and executing the multi -channel marcom plan.


ORGANISATION STRUCTURE & REPORTING LINES

Reporting to the Regional Director of Product Marketing, with ongoing interactions with all sales and wider marketing functions.


ROLE PURPOSE

Customer Intelligence - Lead Strategic direction and ensure the timely execution of analysis resulting in Product category action plans. Ensure a repository of Market, Competitor and Customer intelligence is maintained and updated and champion the voice of the customer within the business

Marcom - Lead Strategic direction and ensure the timely execution of the day to day marketing communication activities ensuring alignment with global and local brand guidelines, strategies and goals.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Intelligence -
*Initial creation of CI processes and practices and ongoing development & ownership
*Pragmatic marketing sizing and market / category opportunity prioritization by leveraging both internal and external resource and sources of Intel
*Urgent focus to extract Market / Competitor / Customer Intel and jointly deliver product category action plans with Product Managers
*Measurement of CI team output in both activity, KPI's and resulting revenue generated
*Overseeing and owning the repository of Market/Competitor/Customer intelligence and making it available to all teams within the business
*Being the champion of the customer throughout the business


Marcom -

*Management of the marketing and promotion multichannel plans by brand and ensure continual communication with the various stakeholders
*Overall responsibility for the design, production and implementation of marketing material, such as brochures, advertisements, mailing campaigns and other sales aids, aligning to brand guidelines
*Manage external suppliers resource to achieve desired timescales within fiscal budget and ensure brand guidelines / desired messaging is achieved / adhered to.
*Ensure that a marcom library / catalogue of materials produced is maintained
*Measure and report on the success of the marketing communications activities
*Continually challenge the efficiency / productivity of our Marcom plan and push the boundaries of creativity as to how we can engage with our customers more effectively
*Ensure all materials comply to branding guidelines across the businesses


LEVEL OF AUTHORITY

*Defining MCM plan (with input from the Sales and Marketing stakeholders)
*Overall ownership of Brand guidelines
*Champion of the customer for the businesses

*Creative in identifying sources of information / intelligence and ability to triangulate several sources of data to size opportunities

Marcom
*High level of competency in written language & proofreading
*Effective managerial experience of multichannel marketing team
*Highly effective Project Mgt skills and experience of MCM campaign management
*Experience of PR, case studies and deployment of effective content on & offline
*Management of Print production
*Experience of Direct mail/email campaigns
*Knowledge of marketing communications principles

Design
*Eye for detail and creative flair while managing our brand guidelines
*Inspire creativity within the team while maintaining a B2B context

Product / Industry
*B2B experience. Experience in construction, manufacturing, chemical, oil and gas and public sector an advantage

Experience:

*Min 5 years senior marketing experience
*Analytical experience and evidence of effective deployment of actioning customer insights with results
*Advanced Project Mgt experience
*People Management
