You will support and deliver communication, marketing and PR activity across a wide range of projects. This will include responsibility for implementing and evaluating communication plans to a range of audiences, exploiting all forms of communication and engagement with stakeholder groups to the best effect.

You will have excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate complex messages in a creative and engaging way. With excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and manage relationships with partners both inside and outside the council, you will be a vital part of communicating key city projects.

Working within the newly-formed External Communications and Consultation Service, this is an exciting time to join a team that is committed to working together to achieve the best results possible against clear objectives.

Projects and campaigns delivered by the team cover issues ranging from supporting sporting initiatives to health and environmental awareness. Specific examples of recent campaigns include our Clean Streets campaign, Fostercare Fortnight and the EPIC awards, celebrating the achievements of Children in Care.

An area of focus for this role will be to support communications focussing on the Bristol Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone - one of the largest regeneration projects in the UK set to deliver 17,000 jobs over the 25 year life of the project - including the Bristol Arena and new pedestrian, cycle and transport routes through the area. The role will also cover communications activity relating to transport.

Specific activities include stakeholder engagement, writing press releases, newsletter and web copy, social media, campaign planning and monitoring and event organisation.
