Job Description

Main Focus of the role 

The Marketing and Communications Officer will have defined areas of responsibility, and work alongside/support the Marketing and Communications Manager. A key area of responsibility will be the production of previews and reports for league matches to go on the website, and be promoted on social media. The officer will also work with clubs to collate images and video for the website and social media. 

Key Aims and Objectives of the role  
- Raise the profile of handball in England  
- Efficient communication with external and internal stakeholders  
- Policing and promotion of the brand and sub-brands 

Key Roles and Responsibilities  
- Produce high-quality written material, and edit and proof read copy. Specific responsibility for league match previews and reports for website and social media 

- Assist in raising the profile of handball through the identification of strong stories, communicated to relevant audiences using appropriate channels.  

- Assist in communications to maintain, and build, strong relationships with partners and stakeholders, locally, regionally, nationally and internally.  

- Assist in the development of a strategic approach to marketing and communications.  

- Assist in policing of the corporate image and brand.  

- Assist in the promotion and delivery of events.  

- Assist in the use of data for marketing purposes, following data protection laws.  

- Follow England Handball’s policies on equality, equity, diversity and child protection.  

- The role may include occasional weekend and ‘out-of-hours’ work.
