Job Description

A bit about the role

• Own the creative strategy, route and execution of advertising and TPS campaigns.
• Develop and lead a robust process for promotional planning and delivery including POS supporting the content, design and rollout of marketing messages across all channels. Work with the other functional leads in ensuring the messages are aligned across TPS.
• Develop and lead the external communications strategy including PR. Ensure a communications plan is in place including national advertising, blog, in store and POS.
• Create and deliver content and communication which drive The Perfume Shop brand awareness and footfall to stores and online.
• Be the brand ambassador and guardian for TPS across multiple channels.
• Work with Head of Buying to align the supplier funding strategy and influence supplier contributions.
• Develop supplier relationships to maximise funding investment and ensure efficiencies in spend.
• Utilise insight in order to understand existing and potential audiences to ensure campaigns are effective and drive results.
• Work closely with the CRM Data and Insight Manager and team to continue to increase participation in the TPS Rewards Club card.
• To build and forecast the marketing and PR budgets sharing with the business where spend is best placed to give a clear ROI. Manage and deliver the annual Marketing plan within Budget.
• Lead and motivate the Marketing and PR team(s) through sharing the overall strategy, communication, goal setting and by personal example, demonstrating TPS cultural values.
• Work with direct reports to ensure they have relevant and SMART objectives, regular reviews and a clear road map regarding their personal development.
• Working alongside other central functions, drive effective cross functional activity through effective collaboration.
• Promote compliance with best practice policies within the AS Watson group and manage and respond to audit function requests, ensuring departmental compliance.
• Manage own continuing professional development and remain up-to-date with industry best practices.
• Any other duties as requested by your Line Manager.

What we will look for from you...

• Able to demonstrate a significant level of broad experience in marketing gained in the commercial sector or across a range of sectors
• Previous relevant experience at a senior level ideally gained in a highly seasonal retail or FMCG environment
• Previous experience of having led and managed a medium to large sized team
• Skilled in project management 
• Previous experience of managing a medium to large budget
• Able to demonstrate a track record of delivery of outcomes which drive business performance 
• Excellent communication skills with evidence of building great working relationships
• Able to work under pressure
• Ability to organise self effectively, plan workload for self and team in the short and medium term
• Knowledge of MS Office, and Outlook
• Able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail is essential
• Flexibility to travel on occasion 
• Prior experience of working in different retail environments
