Key Roles and Responsibilities of the Head of Creative and Design

  • Maintain a range of projects, keeping an eye of deadlines and signing off before they are presented
  • Co-operate with wider marketing teams to maximise product impact and performance through all channels
  • Establish excellent team working skills and create good working relationships with other teams and senior managers, to boost team dynamics, individual ability and solve business issues
  • Plan, deliver and create a strategic vison for internal brand with the creative/design team and work with the online creative team to deliver the consistent brand message
  • Closely work with senior management and peers to make sure all processes are completed correctly and on time
  • Effectively manage change and maintain an environment that the creative team can work well and present their projects and ideas
  • Complies with direct reports on objectives, manages their performance and provides training, guidance to enable teams to work effectively and develop in their roles
  • Manage strong relationships with clients and pitch concepts to brands/directors
  • Be responsible for the creative philosophy and output across all departments, and manage ideas for advertising like TV or promotional campaigns

Key Skills of the Head of Creative and Design

  • Degree level or equivalent in graphic/multi media
  • Proven supply chain expertise with full appreciation of all business functions and internal relationships
  • Exceptional PC skills with experience in Adobe creative suite
  • Proven experience of managing a creative/design team, with the ability to lead and good people management with coaching skills
  • High knowledge of Internet trading and creating of differentiated brands in a multi-channel business
  • Excellent planning and presentation skills
  • Work well under pressure and deliver commercial and sound judgement
