Job Description

One of the top five universities in the world is looking for a Head of Corporate Marketing to develop the corporate marketing function within the wider communications team. They will be responsible for overseeing content production, creative services, publications and managing the visual identity. Their insight will be key to informing the overall brand strategy and position and will act as the brand guardian for the University.

The role will sit within the Communications Division and report to the Director of Communications and Public Affairs in London.

Your role:

  • Develop a dedicated corporate marketing function
  • Develop and implement a brand strategy and indentity
  • Monitor and report on audience perception and recognition
  • Develop processes to support content creation and ensure all creative output is recognisable, consistent, on-brand, engaging and audience-appropriate
  • Work alongside the other Heads of Communications to lead an integrated brand strategy
  • Review the current campaigns, advertising and marketing collateral and lead on future projects
  • Provide training and advice to staff in using and protecting the brand and be the lead brand representative on LSE's Communications Governance Board
  • Provide expert advice on the brand use and marketing techniques to senior management
  • Oversee and manage budgets and funding, ensuring good value for money is achieved and all relevant financial regulations are met
  • Build and use effective external networks and key audience areas
  • Line management responsibility

Your profile:

  • Graduate with a good knowledge of Higher Education, both in the UK and globally
  • Experience of developing brand identity and awareness
  • Record of substantial achievement in marketing in matrix organisations
  • Knowledge of innovations in publishing, rich media and dissemination
  • Experience of content marketing
  • Excellent communications skills - written and oral communications, as well as listening and interpretation skills
  • Ability to understand and simplify complex ideas quickly
  • Ability to build effective relationships, influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at every level of seniority
  • Strong project management and delivery skills. Ability to balance and prioritise several tasks at once
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork and leadership skills and able to manage a substantial team of staff
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage cash budgets
