Headline of the Communications Manager role

Interim Communications Manager required for global IT Lifecyle Management company to help shape and create internal and external communications. As Communications Manager, you will also work closely with key strategic stakeholders including the CEO, Group Marketing Director, COO and Country Heads. In addition, you will also work with a globally dispersed team spread throughout the Nordic region, South East Asia, Northern Europe and the UK.

The role of Communications Manager will be for a period of 6 months FTC, however it could also develop into a temp-to-perm role.

A global powerhouse in their field, this leading company is working at the forefront of creating sustainable IT infrastructure and services. As Communications Manager you will be focused on producing world class communications for a group which employs just under 500 employees in numerous locations spanning multiple countries.

Your content will deliver consistent global messages which can be tailored to country, regional, local and divisional needs. Stakeholder management will be key and as Communications Manager your role will have the scope to set the communication strategy, managing its execution to ensure a consistent message.

Main aspects of the Communications Manager role

As part of the senior leadership team you will work closely with the company CEO to produce external communications including:

  • Company results
  • Reputation management
  • Crisis management
  • Drafting press releases
  • Managing external agencies including PR, design and online
  • Brand building
  • Stakeholder management

You will also work closely with the Group Marketing Director on internal messaging and content including:

  • Driving the implementation and internal messaging of the recent company re-brand to internal employees globally
  • Work with country heads to reproduce your English written copy into local country markets
  • ROI measurement where applicable
  • Supporting internal events and conferences
  • The production of internal bulletins
  • Oversee key internal communications channels

Additional aspects of the Communications Manager role

  • Draft content (e.g. press releases) for relevant media
  • Support company leadership to produce advertorial and thought leadership pieces and white papers
  • Organize initiatives and plan events and press conferences
  • Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews, statements etc.
  • Foster relationships with advocates and key persons
  • Coordinate "damage control" in any cases of adverse publicity

As Communications Manager you will need to be highly energised with great stakeholder management as you connect a geographically spread team to:

  • Increase internal and external news flow
  • Share best practice
  • Provide counsel to the greater Marketing and Communications team
  • Design and implement strategic corporate communications
  • Produce and coordinate global messaging
  • Review and approve corporate collateral

Additional useful must haves of the Communications Manager role

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a hands-on environment and working with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Very strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised and have proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner under pressure
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • A proactive innovative approach with the ability to learn and manage a wide variety of tasks
  • 5 - 7 years communications experience

They would consider an immediate freelancer but also a candidate who is keen to make the jump away form a permanent role into a FTC
