Headline of the Senior Communications Manager role

Interim Senior Communications Manager required for global Investment Management company to help shape and create internal and external communications.

As Senior Communications Manager you will work closely with key strategic senior stakeholders and external supporting agencies. This is a fast moving business and industry, so this role will also see you immerse yourself with the industry's regulatory bodies and media whilst producing exciting and newsworthy content across all channels.

As Senior Communications Manager you will be parachuting into an existing team of six for a London-headquartered investment powerhouse, whose global presence spans the world's key markets and cities.

The role of Senior Head of Communications will be for a period of 3-6 months freelance, covering a permanent staff's sabbatical.

Listed on the London Stock Exchange the role of Senior Communications Manager will help support the development and implementation of this Plc's Marketing, Brand, Financial, Corporate PR and Internal and External Communications.

As Senior Communications Manager you will sit in an internal team of six at number 3/4 whilst supporting a global network of offices and around 3000 employees

Main aspects of the Senior Communications Manager role

As part of the communications team you will work closely with company stakeholders, department heads, teams and external agencies to produce external communications including:

  • Company results
  • Reputation management
  • Crisis management
  • Drafting press releases
  • Managing external agencies including PR, design and online
  • Brand building
  • Stakeholder management
  • Investor relations
  • Support global communications and marketing activities and initiatives including corporate social responsibility, responsible investment, investor relations support, sponsorships, public affairs, social media, marketing and research
  • Develop and maintain key media relationships
  • Coordinate media meetings and interviews for spokespeople
  • Organise and coordinate conference activity for spokespeople
  • Press coverage monitoring, analysis and distribution
  • Coordinate the firm's communications policies and protocols
  • Manage corporate reporting processes, including results / trading updates, AGM, Annual Report and D&I Report
  • Coordinate with industry bodies

You will also work closely with the key stakeholders on internal messaging and content including:

  • Build a network of communications champions for firms CSR activities
  • ROI measurement where applicable
  • Supporting internal events and conferences
  • The production of internal bulletins
  • Oversee key internal communications channels
  • Support and implement firm's internal communications initiatives, diversity program and events
  • Drafting / reviewing of communications materials / supporting with events / advising on suitable strategy
  • Coordinate with Marketing team and other business departments on activity and processes as required
  • Manage and execute inbound internal communications requests from senior stakeholders

Additional useful must haves and ideal skills of the Senior Communications Manager

  • Financial services/PLC experience preferred
  • Genuine interest in investment management
  • Experience implementing marketing/communications programmes
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in agency, corporate and/or government communications, or similar role ideally within an investment firm
  • Strong academic track record
  • Strong writing and numeracy skills
  • Strategic thinker and team player
  • Innovative, creative and a self-starter
  • High levels of discretion
