Job Description

The role will be heading up a small department of three, primarily reporting into the marketing directors.  You will be instrumental in developing and executing the firm’s marketing strategy with the goal of delivering the firm’s key objectives.  The role will require a strategic approach to marketing legal aid (publicly funded) services aimed at some of the most vulnerable members of society, as well as the growing “private client” departments within the firm including family law, conveyancing and wills and probate, and the firm’s specialist claimant arm, which provides niche services focused on supporting clients who have suffered clinical negligence and catastrophic injury to access compensation and care.

  • Developing and managing an integrated marketing plan for the firm’s 13 offices and approx. 14 legal departments
  • Supporting the Directors in delivering the firm’s key objectives
  • Overseeing the development and execution of marketing campaigns covering both digital and traditional forms of marketing, and reporting on campaign performance KPIs
  • Providing supervision and mentoring for the Marketing Officer and junior marketing staff
  • Provide quarterly performance evaluation reports on all marketing activity to the directors
  • Working closely with the external PR Agency to ensure maximum exposure for spend
  • Work directly with department heads to develop departmental marketing plans
  • Work directly with the SOS (case management system) team to oversee the implementation of CRM functions


  • Have extensive experience in marketing, including working within a management role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with commitment to quality and a high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent planning and project management skills
  • Be confident presenting internally to the directors as well as externally

  • Willing to travel to Switalskis offices across the region as and when required

  • Confident using a wide range of IT software / internet-based marketing applications including: Microsoft Office Suite, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Hootsuite, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
  • Able to take a hands-on approach to business development, including leading on networking initiatives and establishing events


  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience within a professional services firm (preferably a law firm)
  • Has previously developed the firm-wide marketing strategy by studying economic indicators, identifying clients and their current and future needs and monitoring the competition
  • Experience of setting and implementing policies regarding which opportunities (such as particular business development activities, advertising initiatives, rankings and directories listings and so forth) the firm should pursue, based on their likelihood to provide a high return on investment
  • Proven track record on coaching lawyers in networking and business development opportunities for associates and/or key staff
  • Experience implementing processes to gather data for marketing KPI reporting and implementing new marketing dashboards
