Job Description

The University of Nottingham has a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding and exceptionally talented Director of Digital and Marketing to join the External Relations Department.

As a truly global institution ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide, we are looking for an ambitious and proactive individual to actively manage, motivate and inspire the newly merged digital and marketing teams to create a sector-leading function within External Relations.

The remit and scope of the External Relations Department has significantly expanded in the last two years in terms of size and complexity of responsibilities. With 242 dedicated members of staff, we have responsibility for all marketing, student recruitment and communications activities across the University, with a new focus on digital. This new role will lead a newly created team comprising student recruitment marketing, corporate marketing, content and digital engagement and web.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO), the successful candidate will have vision and focus, be decisive and resourceful, with the inspiration and tenacity to succeed. We are looking for individuals with drive, energy and a strong track record of delivery and success, with extensive experience at a senior level and significant expertise in their field.

The University is looking for an impressive leader who is passionate and fulfilled by what they do, keen to learn, and can work collaboratively with the External Relations senior team to support the CMCO in creating a sector-leading Department that achieves targets and delivers to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will be a marketing leader with extensive senior management experience and a strong focus on, and track record of, delivery. You will have a proven track record in creating a fully integrated, digital-first, content-led approach to marketing. Extensive brand management and marketing strategy development and implementation is vital for this role. We are looking for an individual who can inspire a team of marketing, digital and creative professionals to deliver real innovation and creativity across all functions and channels.
