As part of an ambitious programme of cultural exchange with partner institutions across China, the British Library has recently launched its first Chinese language website. Presented in traditional and simplified Chinese, the site introduces users to over 30 iconic works of English literature from the medieval period to the present day, and provides access to a wealth of literary manuscripts and rare printed editions. Users can access high resolution images of digitised primary sources; in depth interpretative articles and rich multimedia content.
We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent research and web-authoring skills, outstanding written and spoken Chinese and English, and experience of managing marketing campaigns. The post-holder will sit within the Learning team, but will work closely with colleagues in our Marketing and the China Project Management teams. The post-holder will be responsible for maintaining, expanding and promoting the Library’s Chinese website www.britishlibrary.cn within the framework of the wider project. The post holder will have overall responsibility for the site and prioritise the management of digital marketing campaigns to increase visitor numbers.
