The University of Nottingham has a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding and exceptionally talented Deputy Director of Digital and Marketing (Digital and Content) to join the External Relations Department. 

As a truly global institution ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide, we are looking for an ambitious and proactive individual to actively manage, motivate and inspire a newly merged team comprising of digital and web, content and creation specialists to create a sector-leading function within External Relations.

The remit and scope of the External Relations Department has significantly expanded in the last two years in terms of size and complexity of responsibilities. With 242 dedicated members of staff, we have responsibility for all marketing, student recruitment and communications activities across the entire University, with a new focus on digital. 

Reporting to the Director of Digital and Marketing, the successful candidate will have vision and focus, be decisive and resourceful, with the inspiration and tenacity to succeed. We are looking for individuals with drive, energy and a strong track record of delivery and success. The successful candidate will have experience at a senior level, and significant expertise in their respective field. 

The successful candidate must be both passionate and fulfilled by what they do, keen to learn, and to work collaboratively with the Deputy Director of Digital and Marketing (Marketing) to support the Director of Digital and Marketing in creating a sector-leading Digital and Marketing team, that achieve targets and delivers to the highest standard.

In this digital age, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the right people, processes and systems are in place to revolutionise the University’s current digital engagement activity. You will have vision, exceptional creative flair, extensive understanding of digital marketing systems/tools and processes and strong leadership skills to take the University’s digital offering to the next level. This new role will lead the creation of a newly formed team in the Division of Digital and Marketing to deliver a new approach to marketing at the University.
