IoT Content Specialist (12 months maternity cover)

To support our journey, we are searching for a creative and highly motivated Content Specialist to tell Arm’s IoT story to a rapidly-evolving audience. This is advertised as a 12 months maternity cover but Arm is a growing business and there are potential opportunities for permanency for the right candidate.
As IoT Content Specialist, you will be joining a world-class content team made up of former journalists, content marketers, speech writers and technical experts. Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Content and Exec Comms located in Cambridge, England, you would be taking on a fast-paced and critical role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating compelling content that will engage varied B2B and general audiences, including C-suite Enterprise decision-makers, professional developers and IT managers. You should have a passion for innovation: new ideas and ‘thinking outside the room the box is in’ must be a reflex.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Content creation, curation, publication and promotion – including commissioning content or collateral from authors/external agencies, liaising closely with stakeholders and knowledge experts, as well as purchasing translation work for localized content.
- Management of content on mbed.com using Django CMS, building strong relationship ties to the Arm Mbed web team for support.
- Optimization of content for SEO as well as tailoring material to the correct audience and channel, to ensure Arm is telling the right story to the right people in the right place.
- Deep collaboration across a wide range of teams within Arm as well as externally, including PR and analyst relations, campaigns, digital marketing, developer outreach, product managers and engineering, sales and partner enablement.
- Analysis of content-specific metrics, including visits, click rates, effectiveness of CTAs and lead generation, followed by evaluation of success and consideration for future content pieces.
Minimum of five years’ experience, ideally in content marketing. We will consider less experience backed up with years in a content-related role such as PR, a marketing discipline or technical journalism.
Writing skills: You should be comfortable driving the creation of all content types, including (but not limited to) case studies, whitepapers, executive summaries, checklists, articles, video scripts and storyboards, PPT slide decks, blog posts, press releases, infographics, webinar materials, emails, how-to guides, product sheets and social media.
Collaborative skills: This role is inherently cross-functional, so it is vital you are an instinctive collaborator with the skills to clearly and concisely convey project needs to key stakeholders at all levels. You will need a dogged determination to deliver and balance that with the ability to build tight networks of supportive colleagues.
Communication skills: You will be “telling the story” of Arm’s IoT products and solutions. The goal is to strengthen Arm’s leadership in the rapidly-expanding world of IoT for various marketing channels/audiences. A strong command of English, oral and written, is a necessity.
Industry knowledge is desired: A background in technology and an understanding of the IoT landscape would be hugely beneficial and allow you to hit the ground running on creating the insightful content that will appeal to our audience. Prior experience writing in a B2B technical marketing capacity would be ideal, especially if it has equipped you to deal with the inevitable technology lexicon of terms: NB-IoT, LoRA, e-SIM, TLS, SDK, IDE, NFC, 6LoWPAN, RTOS, LWM2M, BLE and many more.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills: In Arm’s extremely rapid-pace environment, you must field a constant stream of content requests and quickly act on new developments both within the company and externally. The ability to correctly identify your priorities in order to deliver content on time will be crucial.
Experience using a variety of online tools, including Wordpress, Django CMS, Asana, Marketo, the Office365 suite, Ghost Blog and social media.
