Content Manager - Manchester - £37-40k (12-month FTC)
Not-for-profit company, based in Manchester, is looking for an experienced Content Manager to join their marketing team for a 12-month contract, with the potential to go permanent thereafter.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content across various channels, to achieve business goals. You will develop content strategy, aligned with short- and long-term marketing targets, while collaborating with different business areas to plan and develop site content, style and layout. You will create and publish engaging content, while editing, proofreading and improving on other writers' posts. You will liaise with the whole marketing team to ensure brand consistency, while also ensuring compliance with best practice and law. You will work on optimizing content, according to SEO and also use the company CMS (Umbraco) to report on website traffic and user engagement metrics. You will manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms, increasing web traffic. Finally, you will develop an editorial calendar, to ensure relevant campaigns are planned and the teams/resources need are on board.
To be considered for this role, you will be a senior-level content manager, with demonstrable creative writing skills. You will be able to perform well under tight timelines and be very detail-oriented. You will have experience of overseeing brand consistency and be highly skilled in content optimisation. You will have excellent knowledge of CMS (Umbraco, Wordpress etc) and web publishing. You will be familiar with writing for web and social media (to be demonstrated in your portfolio) and the differing demands of each channel. You will be degree educated in Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
