The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is a world-leading government body that makes sure competition works in consumers’ favour and businesses treat their customers fairly. Be it taking enforcement action against drug firms accused of over-charging the NHS, investigating hotel booking websites or conducting a major study into the care homes industry, what we do really matters and makes a difference to people’s lives.

We are looking for a skilled Campaigns/Communications professional to assist the Campaigns and Compliance team, a specific unit within the CMA’s communications department responsible for delivering innovative marketing campaigns across the UK to amplify the impact of the CMA’s work and drive behaviour change. With markets changing fast and the wide scope of work we undertake, this role offers excellent career opportunities.

Our ultimate objective is to improve businesses’ compliance with consumer and competition law. We help businesses (large and small) understand consumer and competition law better so that they know what to do to comply.

The Communications Officer will play a key contributory role in helping us to deliver our strategy, targeting business audiences across a wide variety of sectors and engaging them with impactful messages and content. You will deliver integrated communication campaigns across a range of channels (including partnership, PR, digital) to increase compliance and then measure its effectiveness, feeding learnings into future planning and communications.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ablity to represent the Communications discipline and persuade other often more senior colleagues to accept professional advice, working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. They will also have excellent project management experience in planning and delivering integrated communication campaigns using both traditional and innovative techniques in a complex policy arena.
