Job Description

We are looking for a confident and experienced individual to support the development and implementation of a research communications strategy for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Digital Civics, EPSRC Digital Economy Research Centre and EPSRC Digital Economy Network Plus on Social Justice through the Digital Economy. 

You will plan and implement multi-channel, multi-stakeholder communication campaigns to raise the profile of these groups and engage stakeholders in their research activities and engagement events; produce digital and print materials to support campaigns and work with researchers to help them communicate their work to external audiences.

You will have experience of communication campaign planning and delivery, and of using digital analytics tools to measure impact. You will have excellent copywriting and editing skills with experience of producing high-quality print and digital communication materials. You will be able to communicate complex information to a range of audiences and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both in a team and independently.

You will work under the supervision of Professor Patrick Olivier at Open Lab, Newcastle University but will be co-located with the Faculty Marketing and Communications team one day a week. You will work closely with the Digital Content Creator responsible for content creation.

The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Digital Civics, EPSRC Digital Economy Research Centre and the EPSRC Digital Economy Network Plus on Social Justice through the Digital Economy all sit within Open Lab, Newcastle University’s centre of expertise for cross-disciplinary research in digital technologies, based in the School of Computing. 

This is a full time, fixed term post for the duration of  2 years.
