As an organisation within the Home Office, Her Majesty’s Passport Office is of vital importance to the United Kingdom. As the sole distributor of the nation’s passports, we also take responsibility for civil registration services (such as births, marriages and deaths) and we provide a passport validation service which supports businesses and government departments in preventing fraud. With 3,700 people making up our numbers, 5million passports being issued each year and thousands of validations taking place, our work is varied and interesting – and provides the perfect challenge for a proactive marketing individual with aspirations to be involved in high-profile campaigns.
Joining the Customer Communications Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement team, you will be entrusted with a variety of fascinating projects that have a shared aim of enhancing the customer experience and encouraging customers to make full use of our digital services. Balancing a multi-layered workload in which you may be involved in anything from product launches to making recommendations based on emerging customer needs, this is a dynamic team where your ideas and concepts will be welcomed. As such, you will form close partnerships with internal and external stakeholders as you develop integrated cross-functional campaigns based on insight and intelligence, tracking and measuring the success of these projects to ensure goals are being achieved. Using your solid financial acumen to manage the marketing campaign budget, you will see to it that resources are being used effectively, and that external suppliers such as media and buying agencies have all the support they need to achieve our common objectives.
With a background in marketing, you will have the networking and collaborative skills to ensure your plans can be delivered in partnership with other public and private sector organisations. Good communication and team-player skills are a must – particularly as you will be influencing senior Government officials to adopt your concepts – and you will have outstanding project management capabilities. You will also have confident numerical and analytical skills, with the capacity to translate insight and intelligence into efficient marketing campaigns. We expect all our staff to be able to see the bigger picture, and you will be comfortable working at pace in a rapidly changing environment. Other desirable attributes include a marketing qualification, a knowledge of campaign management software or the ability to use web analytics tools – though these aren’t strictly essential.
