Business Engagement Manager - Fixed Term Contract

Reference: CA5703

Salary: Starting from £39,992, rising to £47,722 with a market supplement

The role

We are looking for a creative Business Engagement Manager, to liaise with businesses and key stakeholders nationally to make them aware of the Institute and secure their involvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a national organisation from the outset - designing and leading the development and delivery of Institute of Coding’s engagement strategy.

You will be responsible for growing the IoC’s partners and will contribute to it’s long-term sustainability. You will need to effectively engage with organisations, informing them of the skills development opportunities provided by the Institute of Coding, encouraging them to be involved on our committees and working groups, embedding them in the work packages and signposting them to the courses on offer.

You will work closely with colleagues across the University community, and in our many university, industry and third party organisations, to deliver this exciting new venture.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience of working for a complex organisation, developing business engagement strategies and delivering them.

The Institute of Coding

The Institute of Coding (IoC) is a new national initiative, led by the University of Bath, which brings together a range of universities, industry, training providers and professional bodies to address the UK’s digital skills gaps.

The Institute’s vision is to enhance the education and employability of every IoC learner, and ensure that employers and individuals across the UK can access the skills they need to compete in the global digital economy. This unique and innovative collaboration has been made possible with £20m from the Higher Education Funding Council for England and match funding from universities and industry partners.

Led by the University of Bath, the Institute of Coding will develop and deliver innovative, industry-focused higher education across the UK. It will develop industry accredited degree schemes and short courses aimed at professionals, as well as working to widen the participation of women, returners to work and hard to reach groups. To help fill the UK’s digital skills shortage, the Institute and post-holder, will identify and work with key sectors and professions to enhance the provision of these skills.

This post is full time (36.5 hours per week) and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis with an anticipated expiry date of 31 March 2021.
