The Brand function’s role is to act as the custodian of the Sky Masterbrand and Sky sub-brands, as well as ensuring all marketing and communications consistently embody Sky’s brand values and tell a clear and compelling brand narrative for customers.

The successful individual will be responsible for day to day Sky brand strategy. They will be guardians of the Sky brand. It’s fun. It goes without saying they will be passionate and creative and ready for the challenge.
Helping to evolving the Sky masterbrand brand positioning, essence and brand values
Help identifying consumer insights
Ensure deep consumer understanding and insight is at the centre of all brand work
Support all brand strategy work to ensure consistency with masterbrand
Reviewing the marketing milestone process for all major through the line campaigns to ensure consistent brand values and tone of voice
Sharing tools and processes to allow the marketing teams to actively manage their respective brands effectively (eg briefing, create judgement and Brand planning)
Working closely with other functions (e.g. PR, talent recruitment, content) to ensure masterbrand positioning acts as a clear and coherent ‘lighthouse’ for the broader business strategy and operations
Ensure that all best practice learnings are captured within case studies and incorporated in to relevant campaigns in the future
Keep ahead of developments in the field of brand and brand agencies maintaining links with the industry and incorporating fresh research or approaches strategic work
Tracking and driving masterbrand metrics (‘Brand I Like’. etc) that have a clear measurable impact on the business’s performance
A proven track record in developing and enhancing clear and compelling consumer brands, ideally within a consumer goods environment
Knowledge in brand proposition development with a track record of building a collection of compelling brands that are clearly differentiated in competitive markets.
Background in brand strategy
Excellent business strategic thinking skills
Demonstrable experience of having driven the strategic thinking around building a family of brands in a commercial context
A strategic and analytical thinker as well as customer-centric marketing leader who can effectively leverage customer insights to shape the strategy and drive the agenda
Ability to build deep understanding and insight into customer needs and preferences
A proficient knowledge base of brand Marketing focused KPI’s e.g. ITP
Demonstrable experience working within a high pressured environment.
Tireless and results driven mentality, able to continually critique and optimise performance.
Able to operate autonomously but understands the importance of collaborations
Self-starter, happy to take initiative and make decisions
Confident communicator and presenter
Experience of leading and developing a team
Passionate with a strong sense of values as well as drive to deliver
