Due to positive change, the Marketing team, based at the impressive Crown Paints head office in Darwen, Lancashire, has a highly-desirable opportunity for a Brand Manager (Retail Brands) to join Crown and their friendly, fast-paced and commercially-focused team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager – Retail & Trade Brands, the role will be responsible for initiating, developing and implementing Brand Marketing plans across the whole Crown Retail brand portfolio for new and existing products to support profitable, strategic targets. Working collaboratively with cross functional colleagues, including in particular Technical New Product Development, Marketing, Design, Packaging, Operations, Commercial Sales and Account Brand Management you will passionately ‘own’ and support each unique branding process, for new and existing product launches. Reviewing market data, customer and competitor trends, you will be aware of market opportunities, managing the brand process from NPD inception and creation, through all stage gates, to prepare a product for launch. You will pitch the concept, properties, features and benefits of your commercial product to major retail customers. This role requires attention to detail, excellent creative and communication skills and the desire and passion for your brands.
To succeed in this role, you must have previous brand management experience gained in a branded manufacturing company or in a marketing agency supporting a major brand, ideally operating in both B2B and B2C markets. Strong commercial acumen and customer focus are essential, along with the experience of building brands. Experience of building product brands in particular to be sold into the major DIY retailers or stockists such as B&Q, Homebase, Toolstation, Wilkinsons etc. or large independents would be an advantage. You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, ideally a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), or the Marketing Society.
