BIMA Events Manager - London

BIMA's Events Manager is responsible for a wide range of events, including specialist roundtables, monthly knowledge sharing events and talent initiatives, private dinners and drinks events and large-scale industry celebrations across the year. In addition to managing this portfolio of events, the Events Manager works closely with other members of the team and the wider Central Council to deliver BIMA's proposition and strategy.

Specific duties include:
¾ Delivering a wide range of events, including frequent knowledge sharing events and networking drinks, which includes sourcing speakers and managing sponsors and external suppliers.
¾ Organising regular exclusive events, such as breakfast roundtables and directors dinners, and managing guest lists and marketing (including keeping the website updated).
¾ Leading on the management of Digital Day, BIMA's nationwide education initiative, including creating ideas and assets for the day, as well as liaising with schools and agencies.
¾ Acting as the main point of contact for BIMA's external event management company and helping to organise the larger scale events, including the BIMA Awards and BIMA 100, ensuring that all actions are completed and kept on track.
¾ Planning and organising the BIMA Awards process, from the awards entry and judging portal to organising the judging day and briefing sessions, and sourcing and liaising with judges.
¾ Designing and planning additional ad-hoc events, including launches and the annual BIMA
Members' Lunch and BIMA social events.
¾ Acting as a support to regional representatives to ensure that they have everything they need from BIMA HQ, including set-up of events pages on the BIMA website and speaker suggestions if needed.
¾ Proactively sourcing venues and negotiating deals within a tight budget.
¾ Taking an active role in customer care, including customer care calls and meetings, membership meetings and attending member events.
¾ Supporting the Central Council, in particular the Young Talent and Awards councils, to deliver their group strategy and action plan for the year ahead.
¾ Helping and supporting the rest of the BIMA team, particularly at busy points within the year. This can include email marketing, social media, admin, organising meetings and liaising with external partners.

Person specification
¾ Minimum of 3 years' B2B event management experience with overall end-to-end event delivery
¾ Experience in both awards and/or members organisations is ideal, but not essential.
¾ Experience of managing small to large-scale events, from 10 person roundtables to 400 person award ceremonies.
¾ Budgeting experience is vital and overall P&L responsibility desirable.
¾ Experience in account management and building and developing client relationships.
¾ Excellent written English and communication skills. Copywriting skills ideal.
¾ Advanced IT skills with excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
¾ Meticulous attention to detail.
¾ Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
¾ Sound negotiating and influencing skills, including managing external suppliers and stakeholders at all levels.
¾ Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads to ensure delivery to agreed deadlines.
¾ A friendly, hard working and flexible individual who enjoys working within a team.
¾ An innovative and fresh thinker with a passion for digital and technology.
¾ Comfortable acting as an ambassador for the organisation at both BIMA and third party events.
¾ Ability to travel.
