Brand Recruitment have partnered exclusively with a leading FMCG organisation to find their newest Assistant Category Manager to join their team on the Berkshire/Surrey border.
We're looking for candidates with 1-2 years' experience in a Category or Insights focused marketing role, with a strong background in data analysis. FMCG or broader B2C experience is a must for this role and candidates will need a strong knowledge of the UK retail channel.
Exceptional communication and relationship building skills are essential to this role, in addition to regularly conversing with retailers and customers to understand their individual challenges and needs, you will also be expected to present the category strategy to some of the biggest retailers on the high street. Their customers have come to expect a certain level of service from this organisation and it is something they pride themselves on, so a commitment to outstanding levels of customer service and a warm approach is needed.
As Assistant Category Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Category Manager with strategic insights and recommendations to help grow the business. This role will see you working collaboratively across the business and with its retail partners to ensure the continued success and growth of your products.
The ideal candidate must have a strong analytical mindset and exceptional numerical skills. You'll be working with vast quantities of data, analysing this and developing actionable insights for the business. A strong awareness of market trends, competitor activity and consumer behaviour is also vital, as you'll use this to ensure your brands stay one step ahead of the competition and continue to be an innovative presence in the market.
