Job Description

The role

  • Developing/owning relationships with senior clients and Business units such as Road Breakdown, Financial Services, Insurance, and Membership
  • Channel mix
    • 40-50% ECRM and email
    • 25% direct mail
    • 25-35% content, digital, other print, integrated
  • 75% project work - managing BTL or integrated projects both strategic and creative or both
    • Owning campaign strategy, creative development, client feedback and agency management end to end
    • Working with planner on new briefs, developing propositions
    • Working with PMs to managing timings, creative resourcing and production/execution
    • Responsible for budget management, time utilisation and billing
  • 25% management time - operational and management related tasks including MI reporting, management of client WIP, training, agency income forecasting, new business generation, strategic proposals, cross agency collaboration, Group Marketing support, client consultation, inductions
  • Potential line management or mentoring of Account manager

 

Experience needed: 

  • Must be a CRM and/or direct marketing focused AD, preferably with experience working on Membership programmes or similar.
  • 5 years + agency experience or a mixture of client and agency side
  • Channel experience: Email, ECRM, Direct Mail, Digital, with good print and digital production knowledge
  • Customer Journey experience a preference but not essential
  • Working on big brands or within big sectors (e.g FS, Retail, Service, Travel) a preference but not essential
  • Experience of understanding, living and breathing a brand TOV

 

 

Skills and personality

  • A strong creative thinker who is confident and articulate - can stand toe to toe with creatives, planners, senior clients and have intellectual debates at a senior or project level
  • Excellent attention to detail and an appreciation of direct response craft
  • Great organisational skills is a must as is the ability to juggle projects and priorities – AA is a fast moving account
  • Happy to execute as much as strategise – we deliver a lot of work
  • Relationship builder - keen to get involved and collaborate in a team environment and have face time with clients and get into ‘their’ world - no shrinking violets!
  • Good financial management skills – it’s crucial to the OLIVER model
  • Mature grown up attitude, knows when to make big calls and doesn’t hide behind emails, has sound judgement and understands client politics

 

What’s it like to work on the AA account?

 

  • It’s a good time to join the AA as we have stabilised the account after a rocky period in 2016 and are evolving and growing with the client
  • This is a hybrid account, where new marketing briefs requiring strategic and /or conceptual ideas are delivered at the London agency whilst adapts/change requests get managed onsite at the clients HQ in Basingstoke.
  • Good relationship with Marketing Director and head of operations
  • OLIVER are actively involved in all areas of the business – we are their BTL activation agency and also collaborate with other agencies mix like Adam & eve, Splendid, Digitas, Carat
  • OLIVER manage their asset management library and online project approval platform
  • The dedicated account team is fun, full of bants and collaborative. Split between:
    • London (4 account handlers, 2 PMs)
    • Basingstoke (1 account handler, 2 creative artworkers)
    • 1 planner
  • Good mix of strategic and creative projects
